Brandi J. Buehn
Ms. Buehn currently concentrates her practice in the area of complex commercial litigation. Since joining the firm, Ms. Buehn has assisted in the representation of various corporate, public entity, and individual clients in multi-million dollar lawsuits involving: complicated financing arrangements; real estate development and hotel and resort disputes; property management issues; and class action defense. Ms. Buehn has also represented various local and national lenders in both commercial and residential foreclosures, and defended against related claims such as those based on the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and unfair and deceptive trade practices. Ms. Buehn is engaged in cutting edge work assisting in the representation of financial services clients in the changing era of Dodd-Frank.
While in law school, Ms. Buehn was a member of the European Union Law Moot Court Team. She argued in both French and English and advanced with her team to the semi-finals in Naples, Italy. As a commercial and bankruptcy law research assistant to Professor Ingrid Hillinger, Ms. Buehn contributed to an Amicus Curiae Brief submitted to several Circuit Courts of Appeal examining negative equity and purchase-money security interests. Ms. Buehn also contributed to the Boston Bar Association’s Bench Meets Bar Conference with respect to First Amendment and Bankruptcy Counsel issues, and worked for Greater Boston Legal Services serving low-income victims of domestic violence.
