Sharon V. Lovejoy

Sharon V. Lovejoy is experienced in representing clients in a wide variety of commercial and business litigation, and in real estate transactions. Ms. Lovejoy has represented various business interests, from multi-million dollar corporations to small businesses and individual interests, in legal matters including real estate site acquisition, real estate litigation, construction disputes, landlord  and tenant  matters,  trust and probate litigation,  antitrust litigation and general business disputes. 

She has extensive experience in both state and federal courts, and has handled cases before appellate courts and in alternative dispute resolution forums.  Immediately prior to joining Starn O’Toole Marcus & Fisher in March of 1996, Ms. Lovejoy practiced law in Florida.  Ms. Lovejoy holds Martindale-Hubbell’s highest possible professional rating (AV) given to her by other legal professionals based on their knowledge of her work, reputation and integrity.

Some examples of Ms. Lovejoy’s recent legal work include:

Construction/Mold Litigation.  Ongoing representation of hotel owner in country’s largest construction/mold litigation involving large resort property, involving more than twenty parties.

Partnership Litigation and Business Transactions.  Represented international business interests in a $100-million litigation involving complex partnership disputes and in business transactions relating to a large hotel resort property.

Telecommunications Development.  Ongoing representation of a telecommunications interest in the development of a mobile telecommunications network, with related real estate acquisition negotiations, documentation and financing issues.

Real Estate Lending Group. Representation of a syndicate of Japanese companies in connection with the sale of a large resort property.  Representation included negotiation of closing issues, and management of multiple case litigation and bankruptcy claims arising from a prior purchase and sale agreement, including working with and coordinating the efforts of litigation teams in all aspects of the litigation to ensure the best representation of the clients’ interests.

Blankenship Enterprises.  Represented a multi-million dollar company in litigation over a stock purchase agreement relating to the sale of a large number of well-known national franchise interests.

Franchise Litigation.  Represented a group of small business owners in complex litigation and arbitration against a large international franchise organization.

Trust Representation.  Represented several large land-owning family trust interests in litigation matters involving disputes over real estate conveyances, trust distributions and trust governance matters.

Estate Representation.  Represented a large land owning estate in all aspects of the resolution of its landlord and tenant disputes and litigation.

Medical Practice Groups.  Represented several medical practice groups and individual physicians in litigation and alternative dispute resolution regarding stock ownership, real estate, employment, dissolution and director/officer disputes.

Manufacturing Concern.  Represented a specialty manufacturing concern in extensive litigation regarding wrongful termination and covenant not to compete issues.

Government Contractor.  Represented government contractor in dispute with labor union regarding termination of union members and enforceability of arbitration award.

Antitrust Litigation.  Represented plaintiff in antitrust litigation at the trial and appellate level.  Had primary responsibility for drafting 11th Circuit Court of Appeals brief that directly resulted in favorable settlement for client.
