Shyla P. Cockett
Shyla P.Y. Cockett concentrates her practice in the areas of commercial, real estate and construction litigation. Ms. Cockett has assisted in defending a multi-million dollar corporation against environmental litigation on appeal, representing minority shareholders in closely-held corporations in individual and derivative actions, settling contractual disputes, resolving construction issues, interpreting lease agreements, debt collection and foreclosure actions.
During law school, Ms. Cockett was actively involved in many student organizations and held several leadership roles, including coordinating the 2007 graduation ceremonies. Ms. Cockett externed for the Honorable Simeon Acoba, Hawaii Supreme Court Justice. Ms. Cockett was also the recipient of several scholarships and awards in Law School, including a CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for Federal Income Taxation.
