Zachary N. Gershuni

Zachary N. Gershuni represents businesses and individuals in complex civil litigation matters and commercial transactions. Mr. Gershuni holds Martindale-Hubbell's highest possible rating (AV) given for both his skill and integrity.

On the litigation side, he has helped defend a major corporation against a class action and a leading condominium-hotel operator against a partnership derivative suit.  He also has represented clients in matters involving restraints on competition, fraudulent transfers, deceptive trade practices, and labor-management relations.

On the transactions side, he has drafted contracts and conducted due diligence in matters involving business acquisitions, land sales, land use and development, and government contracts.

During law school, Mr. Gershuni received numerous awards and merit-based scholarships.  He also externed for the Honorable Elizabeth D. Laporte, United States District Court, Northern District of California.  In federal court, he researched and drafted bench memoranda and orders in cases involving the Eighth Amendment constitutionality of California’s three-strikes law, the appointment of counsel for defendants accused of financial crimes, waiver and abrogation of a state’s Eleventh Amendment sovereign immunity, and the extent of federal jurisdiction over tidelands bordering federal land.
