12 Starn O'Toole Marcus & Fisher Attorneys Selected for Inclusion to the 2017 Hawaii Super Lawyers and "Rising Star" List

Starn O’Toole Marcus & Fisher is proud to announce that twelve firm attorneys have been selected for inclusion to the Hawaii Super Lawyers 2017 list. Each year, the firm has steadily increased the number of attorneys recognized, this year having twelve listed attorneys in Honolulu.

This year, firm Director Ivan M. Lui-Kwan and Senior Real Estate Counsel Christina N. Ohira have been added to the 2017 Hawaii Super Lawyer list and 2017 Hawaii "Rising Star" list respectively.

Peter Starn has been named to the 2017 Hawaii Super Lawyers list in the practice area of Real Estate Law. Mr. Starn is also named to the Best Lawyers in America and Chambers USA lists and has 45 years experience in commercial real estate development, entitlements and operations, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions.

Terence “Terry” J. O’Toole has been named to the 2017 Hawaii Super Lawyers list in the practice area of commercial litigation. Mr. O’Toole was also selected to the 2011 Hawaii Super Lawyers® “Top 25” list, named as a “Lawyer of the Year” in Honolulu numerous times by Best Lawyers In America®, and named a “Star” by Chambers USA each year since 2009.

Kenneth B. Marcus has been named to the 2017 Hawaii Super Lawyers list, Real Estate Law. He has also been selected to the Hawaii Super Lawyers “Top 25” list three times and named a Best Lawyers® 2017, “Lawyer of the Year” in Honolulu.  His focus is commercial real estate development, finance, leasing, purchases and sales, with expertise in the hotel industry.

Duane R. Fisher has been named to the 2017 Hawaii Super Lawyers list, Real Estate Law. He was also been selected to the 2014 Hawaii Super Lawyers® “Top 25” list, Best Lawyers®, “Lawyer of the Year” in Honolulu and ranked by Chambers and Partners USA for real estate law. He is recognized for his expertise in real estate, construction and corporate law.

Sharon V. Lovejoy has been named to the 2017 Hawaii Super Lawyers list, Commercial Litigation. Ms. Lovejoy, a Director of the firm, is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and Federal Bar Association, and past-President of the Federal Bar Association-Hawaii Chapter. Her focus is in commercial, real estate and business litigation.

Trevor A. Brown has been named to the 2017 Hawaii Super Lawyers list, Commercial Litigation. He was also selected to the 2015 Hawaii Super Lawyers® “Top 25” list, as a  Best Lawyers®, “Lawyer of the Year” in Honolulu and Litigation Star by Benchmark Litigation. He has over 25 years experience representing clients in both business litigation and transactions.

Mark J. Bennett has been named to the 2017 Hawaii Super Lawyers list, Commercial Litigation. He is the former Hawaii State Attorney General, and a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He has first-chaired more than 100 jury trials, and argued more than fifty cases on appeal, twice successfully before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Judith Ann Pavey has been named to the 2017 Hawaii Super Lawyers list, Commercial Litigation. She has been recognized as a “Lawyer of the Year” in Honolulu by Best Lawyers in America, named to the Hawaii Super Lawyers list and named by Benchmark Litigation. Ms. Pavey has been recognized for her work in both commercial and personal injury practice areas.

Ivan M. Lui-Kwan has been named to the 2017 Hawaii Super Lawyers list, Real Estate Law. Mr. Lui-Kwan is a Director of the firm and is also recognized by Best Lawyers in the practice area of Government Relations Practice and Administrative/Regulatory Law and named a 2015 “Lawyer of the Year” in Honolulu, Government Relations Practice.

Norman H.Y. Cheng has been named to the 2017 Hawaii Super Lawyers list, Real Estate Law. He is the firm’s Managing Director and is also recognized by Chambers and Partners USA in the practice area of real estate law. He concentrates his practice in the areas of real estate, hotels and resorts, business structure and operations and commercial transactions.

Andrew J. Lautenbach has been named to the 2017 Hawaii Super Lawyers list, Commercial Litigation.  Mr. Lautenbach has also been selected to the Best Lawyers in America, Chambers and Partners USA and named  a Litigation Star by Benchmark Litigation. Mr. Lautenbach focuses his practice in the area of complex commercial litigation.

Christina N. Ohira has been named to the 2017 Hawaii Super Lawyers, Rising Star list, Real Estate Law. Ms. Ohira is a Senior Real Estate Counsel at the firm and focuses her practice in the areas of real estate law, hotels and resorts, business structure and operations and commercial transactions.
